Refund policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. Once the request for return has been authorised, you have an additional 14 days to return items.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at hello@theopticalworkshop.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Returned items must be sent using a tracked and insured service. We do not accept responsibility for items lost in post when returned by you.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

 

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Under the provisions made in the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods, custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). These provisions would also include prescription lenses and although we strive for customer satisfaction, we reserve the right to refuse refunds on prescription lenses unless these prove to be faulty or incorrectly supplied as per your statutory rights. These provisions would also include any bespoke spectacles, sunglasses or bespoke clip-on sunglasses that the consumer and The Optical Workshop have agreed in contract as defined by The Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds on gift cards other than to the original purchaser via the original payment method and then, only within the 14 days return policy. The recipient of the gift card will not be entitled to a refund of any amount stated on the gift card or part thereof.

 

Exchanges
Exchanges on prescription lenses will be considered on a case by case basis but any such outcome is not provided for the consumer un the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and is at the discretion of The Optical Workshop.

Exchanges on bespoke frames, clip on sunglasses and any other item custom made for the consumer are not possible although we may be able to make alterations to these items when possible and at the expense of the consumer.

Exchanges on any goods not considered custom or bespoke will be actioned if return request is made within 14 days of receipt.

 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
